Does the Bible make white people feel bad about racism?

Does the Bible make white people feel bad about racism?

The Vanity Fair headline reads: Florida advances bill that would ban making white people feel bad about racism. It immediately brought something to mind. Do they know that Jesus wasn’t white? In fact, Jesus was, gasp, Middle Eastern. And do they know what the Bible says about foreigners and aliens? Oh yeah, do they also know that white people would have been aliens in many parts of the known world in Biblical times? Does that mean Florida will ban the Bible?

Does Christianity really say wives submit to your husbands?

Does Christianity really say wives submit to your husbands?

Does Christianity really say wives submit to your husbands? Well, that depends. The English words say that. Unless we take the time to read the rest of the sentence in which they occur. If we turn to the spirit of the words, no, it doesn’t necessarily say that at all. I ask because I was going to write about something totally different today. That is, until I read the headline – Grace Community Church Leaders under Fire for ‘Excommunicating’ Wife Who Refused to Stay with Abusive Husband. That is, in a word, disgusting! And it’s a misuse of the verse in question. So, in another word, it’s wrong.

Further, it says nothing of the earth itself. Is it time? Have we grieved God to the point where He’s finally going to end this fallen creation?

Doesn't everyone love their friends?

Doesn’t everyone love their friends?

Doesn’t everyone love their friends? Jesus asked, “Do not even pagans do that?”  It was supposed to show that some of the things we Christians do aren’t anything special.  That’s what “even pagans do that” was about.  But what about the times when pagans do good things that even Christians don’t do?  What kind of questions should we be asking ourselves when we’re in that situation?

Which god do you worship?

Which god do you worship and why do you love it/him/her?

Which god do you worship and why do you love it/him/her? There are many gods, and people worship them for various reasons. Ultimately, I believe salvation is at the root of why people worship various gods. However, at the same time, we need to know – salvation from what? Does our god of choice save us from a boring life? A life of poverty? Or does our god promise something beyond this existence we’re currently living?
