Religion and Government – their impact on our salvation. I wrote this about two and a half years ago. It’s amazing how much things have changed in that short time. It look at different forms of government, with different combinations of intertwining between government and religion.

But now, here in the U.S., it’s getting really hard to tell which one we are anymore. Less and less a democracy – and more and more a weird kind of theocracy / dictatorship combination. It’s scary. Not just for what its doing to our country, but also to our salvation. Especially those who are pushing and supporting the strange and unBiblical alliances being set up here.

This is a national prayer breakfast?

Remember the picture at the top of the page? The coffee cup with one whole coffee bean? And no water? It feels like there’s more coffee in that cup than there is Christianity coming from the mouths of all these political people. No matter how often they say the word “God”.

Do you know what “Do not be afraid” is supposed to mean to Christians? And if you’re a “Trump” Christian, do you understand the significance of adding “unless I hate you”? My question for someone who claims to have done so much for Christians – where is forgiveness? Is teaching the Bible in public schools a good idea? I dare say, most non-Christians answer that question with a great bog “No!” But what about Christians? Do Christians think it’s a good idea for public schools to teach the Bible? For what it’s worth, President Trump and the Supreme Court of the U.S. both say it’s at least legal. And while the legal issues play a bog part in the discussion, that’s not my question. My question for Christians to pray about and answer is whether or not it’s a good idea.

I mean, it’s not like the satanic temple is out there forcing anything. They’re just taking advantage of things that Christians have pushed for! What are we thinking? Are we thinking?

Do we have eyes to see? Do we have ears to hear? Do we understand our own Scriptures? Do we even read them? Are we – Christians – so busy pushing our own agenda, rather than Jesus’ agenda, that we’re actually the ones bringing ourselves closer to the end?

We can lie to ourselves and each other, but not to God. As hard as we try, and no matter how much we may convince ourselves of success, we cannot lie to God. I just read something from nbsnews.com – Ministers interrupt Sessions, are removed from religious freedom conference. I wish I could say I was shocked by it. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is happening all too often. And judging by the reaction of the first comment, people actually go for this stuff. I’d include the comment, but I’d have to bleep it.

I have anything against her. It’s more that our current president, and those in power that are following / becoming more like him, make me really take another look at both parties. And I don’t like either one.

There are so many things that, as a Christian, I must take exception to. But for whatever reason, God has us living in a democracy. And we have the ability to vote. But how do we choose, when both sides are so anti-Christian – if not in word then certainly in deed. The things both sides do should be unacceptable to Christians. So how do we choose who to vote for?

A time when “meant for people like her” still means a black person isn’t welcome in any given church she wants to attend.
