Which god do you worship and why do you love it/him/her? There are many gods, and people worship them for various reasons. Ultimately, I believe salvation is at the root of why people worship various gods. However, at the same time, we need to know – salvation from what? Does our god of choice save us from a boring life? I just watched the landing of NASA’s Perseverance on BBC. An amazing accomplishment. Katty and Christian were all excited about it. As I said, Christians can learn a lot from political parties. Oftentimes, maybe what to do, but certainly not the way to do them.
After all, it doesn’t matter if Christians are taking a “Biblical” approach to an issue. And yes, I put “Biblical” in quotes for a reason. It’s because when our solution is to go to the government, and / or to act in a way that isn’t loving – it’s also not truly Biblical.
We turn people off. They reject our solutions. But even worse, they reject Jesus’ offer of salvation because we failed to act in a manner consistent with what Jesus taught.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. That’s from Proverbs. However, it still applies to Christians today. We may not want to acknowledge it, but, Jesus did say, Mt 5:18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore, we need to speak up when a black person holding a cell phone is viewed as a danger by law enforcement, but a white person holding a spear isn’t!
