Never again will I destroy all living creatures.

Never again will I destroy all living creatures. Until …

Never again will I destroy all living creatures. That’s what God said. You know, back in Genesis, the first book in the Bible. Of course, that means He did destroy all living creatures once. However, let’s not forget what happens in Revelation, the last book in the Bible. God won’t destroy all living creatures. That doesn’t mean destruction isn’t coming though. Further, it says nothing of the earth itself. Is it time? Have we grieved God to the point where He’s finally going to end this fallen creation?

Is the earth intelligent, or is this something else?

Is the earth intelligent, or is this something else?

A group of researchers have posed a fascinating — and downright mind bending — thought experiment: If a planet like Earth can be “alive,” can it also have a mind of its own? So – Is the earth intelligent, or is this something else? Maybe we should ask, how can there be an intelligent earth? For that matter, who says the earth is even alive? Or have we changed the meaning of alive?

Look to the Bible as our guide in the future

Look to the Bible as our guide in the future. That’s a partial quote from one of our previous presidents. Any guesses as to who it was? Do you think he was Christian? Here are a couple clues. Doesn't everyone love their friends?

Doesn’t everyone love their friends?

Doesn’t everyone love their friends? Jesus asked, “Do not even pagans do that?”  It was supposed to show that some of the things we Christians do aren’t anything special.  That’s what “even pagans do that” was about.  But what about the times when pagans do good things that even Christians don’t do?  What kind of questions should we be asking ourselves when we’re in that situation?

Which god do you worship and why do you love it/him/her?

Which god do you worship and why do you love it/him/her? There are many gods, and people worship them for various reasons. Ultimately, I believe salvation is at the root of why people worship various gods. However, at the same time, we need to know – salvation from what? Does our god of choice save us from a boring life? A life of poverty? Or does our god promise something beyond this existence we’re currently living?

Mars Perseverance Rover – dare mightier things

I just watched the landing of NASA’s Perseverance on BBC. An amazing accomplishment. Katty and Christian were all excited about it. Everyone they interviewed was celebrating and grinning from ear to ear. As I was watching the people in NASA’s control room, I couldn’t help but notice some words on the wall: Dare Mighty Things. But when all was said and done, I couldn’t help but wonder – why not Dare Mightier Things?

What can Christians learn from political parties?

What can Christians learn from political parties?

As I said, Christians can learn a lot from political parties. Oftentimes, maybe what to do, but certainly not the way to do them.

After all, it doesn’t matter if Christians are taking a “Biblical” approach to an issue. And yes, I put “Biblical” in quotes for a reason. It’s because when our solution is to go to the government, and / or to act in a way that isn’t loving – it’s also not truly Biblical.

We turn people off. They reject our solutions. But even worse, they reject Jesus’ offer of salvation because we failed to act in a manner consistent with what Jesus taught.
